The government’s increase in petroleum prices was opposed on Sunday by the Pakistan Goods Transport Alliance.
It has become hard for them to operate their businesses under this inflation, according to Malik Shahzad Awan, president of the Pakistan Goods Transport Alliance; thus, the time has come to take to the streets and protest the current administration.
The alliance, Awan said in a statement, will “fight” the decision and develop a plan in this regard.
Ishaq Dar, the finance minister, announced a 35 rupee per litre increase in the cost of petrol and diesel on Sunday.
Dar said that an 11 percent increase was witnessed in the prices of petrol products in the international market.
Dar further announced that the prices of kerosene oil and light diesel oil have been increased by Rs18 per litre.
