The history of Zikri sects

There are 72 Muslim religious sects in the world. Each has its own beliefs and traits. As our holy prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace be upon him) quoted that “after his death, Islam will turn into 72 sects” every sect will be having its own convictions. The history of the Zikri Sect is written by a great author and a Zikri thinker shaikh Abdul Ghani Baloch. First published in 1996. The zikries drive their name from the zikr, a formula that they repeat in the course of their devotion. Generally, the zikries play a comprehensive role in the defense of Islam. They are always in the favor of Islam, like following the pillars of Islam( Oneness of God, Namaz, Roza, Zakath, Hajj which are the fundamental tenets of Islam without following the rudimentary aspect one can not be inter into Islam.

In addition, The Zikries have always been a peaceful community from history they did not hurt any community, but unfortunately, they have faced a number of issues. The Zikri community was a popular and prominent community from the 15th century, where there were free to do anything There were many personalities who played a broad role in the spreading the Zikrism like, Abu Saeed, Shay Hassan, Shukar Ullah, shay Ahmed, shay qasum, shay Abdullah, shay Zahri, Malik Dinar, Mulla Murad, etc, they devoted their whole life for the Zikri community. However, The Zikri get degenerated and deteriorated from the early 18th century due to the internal indifferences of some selfish zikries who decimated and devastated the zikries in the worst way.

History witnessed that for the throne the sons have revolted against their fathers like Shahjahan and Jahangir. In the same way, the son of Malik Dinar shay Umar wanted that he should be the king of Makran for this purpose Malik dinar knew that he is not able to rule, due to this shay Umar altered from the Zikri firqah and met with Mir Naseer Khan who was a popular king of Khan of Kalat. Shay Umar aggravated and infuriated Naseer Khan against Zikries. When the first time Naseer Khan assaulted Makran he did not get the victory, since the zikries bravely competed with Khan. After two times abortive attacks of Mr. Naseer Khan, he did not get success, finally, he once again attacked zikries with a large number of troops and the zikries were unable to compete with him then he annihilated the zikries and the bloodletting of Zikries, he destroyed their mosques, dargahs, important books, etc.

This assaulting did not only frighten them but also ،that caused tumultuously. Indeed, they become boredom and fed up to leave their native areas. Finally, the situation become under control when the British empire terminated the secretion issues and captured the all over region. The zikries who were in mountains for many years again start coming to their native areas, and they become free to perform zukir and other devotion in their own hometown. This book is full of Many historical events but three important things are highly discussed.

1. The basic indifferences.

2. The purpose of assaulting.

3. The injustice of authors.

1:The basic indifferences

Zikri Sect or firqah is that they consider Syed Muhammad johnpuri as Mehdi(A .S) who was born in 1443 BC in Johnpur or Uttar Pradesh in India and was a great personality in Sunni Sect. The Sunni Sect considered that due to the distinction consideration of him, he was deported from India after the deportation he come to (Farah) Afghanistan where he died in 1504 BC. But the zikries have a different envision regards of him they think that Syed Muhammad johnpuri did not die in Afghanistan he lived in Makran where he performed prayer on (Koh e Murad) a small mound which is located in the south of Makran which is deemed a holy place in Zikri firqah. Every 27th of Zulhajj the zikries come and do charity, perform the prayer and pardon for their bad deeds. The Chogan has great value in Zikri Sect.

Historically, when the zikries were suffering from the genocide of Naseer Khan for the purpose of protection they make some security guards in order that while they are busy with zikir they should not be attacked. For this reason, they choose some brave people for security reasons. Sometimes the protectors become sleepy then they were killed duration of zukir. Because of such horrific attacks, they used to make some security guards in order to secure them while they become busy performing zikir. For the purpose that the guards should not sleep, they created Chogan where they admire and appreciate God, the holy prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), and Syed Imam Mehdi. The Chogan is only the admiration of Allah the Almighty and the Holy prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) nothing else.

2: The purpose of assaulting

The initial purpose of assaulting was political, Naseer Khan wanted to rule because there were no other purposes. The ruling classes always killed the debilitate ones. Since the zikries were always in the favor of Islam, they did not do anything which should be against Islam every one ever thing is related to the Oneness of Allah the Almighty, the Holy Quran, and the Sunnah and shariah. They also read the same verses which are present in the holy Quran, they also recite Holy Quran verses,  and perform pilgrimage also they perform 5 times prayers, like Fajir, Zohor, assur, magrib, and tahajod. Their wedding is like the Shariah and Shnnah. Then what can be the difference? Commonly, due to some misunderstanding which causes horrifying consequences.

There is no other motive behind these attacks if the zikries were non-Muslims then there lived numerous zikries in Kolowah, Greshah, Mashkay, Awaran, etc which are very near to Khan of Kalat. Why Naseer Khan did not attack these areas, where the majority of zikries lived? The main purpose was to rule and decrease the power of zikries therefore he wilfully assaulted zikries. On the other hand, if the zikries did not breach each other and could not politically become against their own brothers then non of the ruler powerless them it was their own unfortunately, and they become assaulted terribly.

3: The injustice of authors

Meanwhile, the writers did the same injustice which Naseer Khan has done. Despite, the good authors who have written many books, like Abdulhaq, Baloch, Hatturam, Molana kosar neyazi and many more being good writers they also provide the wrong information regards of Zikri devotion, like,1) Zikries consider Mulla Atkey their last prophet. It is an accepted fact that the zikries consider Hazrat Muhammad PBUH as the last prophet, Mulla Atkey is not the last prophet.

2) They consider Kohe Murad as their Hajj. However, zikries do not consider Kohe e Murad as their Hajj they deem Khani e khaba as their pilgrimage. Kohe Murad is only a holy place in Zikri firqah, where Syed Muhammad johnpuri performed prayer and spread zukir to the various areas of Makran. where they go perform the prayer, pardon their bad deeds and do charity, etc.

3)Burhan/ Brahan Al taveel or kanz Al Israr is the last book of Allah the Almighty, It is only an accusation nothing else, because the zikries consider the Holy Quran as the last book which was revealed on Hazrat Muhammad PBUH.

These writers have much written about them by the appointments or the partial observers which is misleading. Because of such writers, the Zikri cult is infamous and infuriated many people about zikries. At last, the History of Zikri Sect/firqah is a knowledgeable book that provides exclusive and rectifies cognizant about zikries when one reads such informative books will get correct information regards of zikries. It is the duty of every reader to read such historical books which are the sort of abysmal real knowledge Commonly, it is liable for the Government of Pakistan to make sure every community protects in order that they should not face such horrific attacks.

  1. Everything is very admirable, very based reach on history of Makkoran and Zigri which is most true, except the part of Muhammad Jonpuri as the mahdi from Zigries believe. We don’t consider Muhammad Jonpuri as our Mahdi AS, because the followers of Mohammed Jonpuri are called Mehdavis which Indian states Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra Tamil Nadu, Karnataka,Bengaluru Hyderabad and south indian states.

Muhammad Jonpuri did is preaching in India which are more close to his birth place. And his Followers Mahdivies are more likely be sunni’s. If Zigries consider Muhammad Jonpuri as their Mahdi AS ,then, why are we called Zikries and followers of Mohammed Jonpuri as Mahdivies. There are no similarities between Mahdivies and Zikries. Zikries consider their Mahdi (as the true guided one, or The Guide). More most us believe prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) as our Mahdi (The Guide).

Let me tell your more about the origin from the origin the term Mahdi has basically derived from the word “Ahdi” which means “The Guide or The Truly Guided One” which still Zikries mention in their Chogan says:
“ھدی ؤ مھدی تو رھم کن زگر ءَ ھدا منی کسمت کن”
“Ahdi o Mahdi Tho Rahm kañ Zigr’á Huda máni Kismat kañ”
Which means “Oh The Truly Guided One (Ahdi & Mahdi) have mercy upon, My Lord make worship our fortune”.
Further more here some knowledge about word Mahdi from Wikipedia:
“the term al-Mahdi was employed from the beginning of Islam, but only as an honorific epithet (“the guide”) and without any messianic significance. As an honorific, it was used in some instances to describe prophet Muhammad(ﷺ) (by Hassan ibn Thabit), Abraham, al-Husayn, and various Umayyad clips هداة مهدhudat mahdiyyun). During the Second Muslim Civil War (680-692), after the death of Mu’awiya I (r. 661-680), the term acquired a new meaning of a ruler who would restore Islam to its perfect form and restore justice after oppression. Abd Allah ibn al-Zubayr, who laid claim to the caliphate against the Umayyads and found temporary success during the civil war, presented himself in this role. Although the title Mahdi was not applied to him, his career as the anti-caliph significantly influenced the future development of the concept. A hadith was promulgated in which Muhammad prophesies the coming of a just ruler.”

It also clearly says Prophet Abraham / Ibrahim Khalilullah was also called as Ahdi or Mahdi as The Truly Guided One in Islamic history.
In the Quran, Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) is highly praised and mentioned as a model of faith. Allah refers to him as His friend (Khalilullah) in Surah An-Nisa (4:125):”And who is better in religion than one who submits himself to Allah while being a doer of good and follows the religion of Abraham, inclining toward truth? And Allah took Abraham as an intimate friend.”This verse emphasizes the virtue of submitting to Allah and following the righteous path of Prophet Ibrahim.
And Till today Zikries are on the righteous path of Prophet Ibrahim Khalilullah, and they do fasting on Ten Days of Dhul Hijjah before celebrating Eid Al Adha, considering it as they days of griefs for prophet Ibrahim Khalilullah.
These days hold special significance in the Islamic calendar, and they include the first ten days of the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah. Many Muslims engage in increased worship, acts of charity, and good deeds during this period.
And each and everything these things which are performed by Zikries as the righteous path and religion of Prophet Ibrahim Khalilullah, as Allah Almighty had commanded till today in our believes Zikries are on the command of Allah Almighty following the religion of true friend of Allah. But Mehdavis are much different from Zikries, their are neither called Zikries nor their perform any ritual related to Zikries. they’re the followers Mohammed Jonpuri not the Zikries. Not only me but too many Zikries scholars don’t agree on this statement of claiming Mohammed Jonpuri as the Mahdi according to Zikries Muslims.
They two of them can be our which we call Mahdi (The Truly Guided One or The Guide) is either Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) Himself or Prophet Ibrahim Khalilullah. Because Zikries are in many ways following the path of Prophet Ibrahim Khalilullah. In my believe Both are the Mahdi for us.
