Caught On CCTV: Chandigarh woman hit by car while feeding stray dog

An SUV struck a 25-year-old woman who was feeding a stray dog close to her home in Chandigarh in a shocking hit-and-run case that was caught on camera, then sped off.

The woman, Tejashwita, is recuperating in a hospital after sustaining head injuries. Her relatives reported that she has spoken with them and is doing well.

The incident allegedly occurred on Saturday night while Tejashwita and her mother Manjider Kaur were feeding stray dogs by the sidewalk, according to the family.

In CCTV footage, Tejashwita can be seen feeding a dog. A Mahindra Thar SUV appears on the parallel road. The SUV is seen making a U-turn and hitting the woman, leaving her writhing in pain.

When Tejashwita’s mother saw her lying in a pool of blood, she was horrified. She claims no one came to their aid. She dialed her house and the police command centre.

Ojaswi Kaushal, Tejashwita’s father, stated that she has earned her degree in architecture and is currently preparing for the civil service entrance exams. According to him, she used to accompany her mother every day to feed stray dogs.

Police have opened an investigation, and they are looking for the car and the driver.

A series of horrifying accidents have brought rash driving back under the spotlight. The most prominent among these is the Delhi car horror case, in which a 20-year-old woman died after her leg was stuck under a car and the vehicle dragged her through the roads.

In another tragic incident, a speeding police van rammed into a car on the Gurugram-Faridabad road yesterday. A six-year-old girl was killed and five family members were injured. Shockingly, the police personnel did not try to rush the child to the hospital and instead, fled the spot.
