Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter, announced last month that the company would start releasing 1.5 billion usernames when inactive users have kicked off the site and terminated.

The platform’s policy against username squatting, however, prohibits the purchase and sale of usernames, but users discovered a way around the rule by trading usernames on the black market.
The news story was released immediately after Telegram said it might start an auction for usernames on a platform called TON blockchain.
As soon as he became the owner of Twitter, Musk set out to generate revenue for the company by wooing back advertisers who had abandoned the network.
Additionally, he made significant modifications to the business, most of which were met with resistance from customers and staff within his own company.
