3 people hospitalized in McKees Rocks shooting

Allegheny County police report that three persons were rushed to the hospital following a gunshot that occurred in McKees Rocks on Wednesday afternoon. 3 people hospitalized in McKees Rocks shooting.

Around 3:45 p.m., according to police, units were summoned to the 1500 block of Chartiers Avenue. 3 people hospitalized in McKees Rocks shooting. Three male victims, two adults and one youngster, were discovered by first responders with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to their extremities.

The victims were transported to local hospitals and are expected to survive. Allegheny County police are investigating.

No suspects have been named in this shooting. Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call the County Police Tip Line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous.

Pat Bosetti just finished work when the gunfire erupted. He said he then saw a 17-year-old boy running toward him.

“The juvenile came running through the houses, running up towards us. He needed help, he needed help. I put him on the ground and tried to calm him down,” said Bosetti, who found the victim on Singer Avenue.

“He just kept saying ‘I’m shot, I’m shot. Help me, help me.’ We tried to help him, we called 911 right away. A neighbour came out with a belt, and put it on his arm. I held a tourniquet, another lady held a rag on his leg, tried to calm him down.”

Another Good Samaritan, Amber Kiger, was also at the scene, “I just saw a young man, a kid, he had no shoes, no phone, he didn’t even have a shirt on,” Kiger said. “He was crying for his mom. He was shot. It was very traumatizing.”

Bosetti reported hearing at least 15 gunshots and seeing one person flee. His accompanying son reported seeing two persons sprinting.

County police are initiating the investigation. There’s been no word on any suspects.
