Saudia plans to incraese Hajj quota for Pakistan

As Covid-related limitations in the kingdom have been removed, Saudi Arabia plans to increase Pakistan’s Hajj quota to pre-pandemic levels of over 180,000.

When the pandemic began in 2020, only 1,000 local citizens were permitted to perform Hajj, compared to a pre-pandemic fighter population of 2.5 million. The pilgrimage was limited to 60,000 domestic participants last year by the kingdom.

The Kingdom, on the other hand, permitted 1 million people from within and outside the country to do Hajj. There were 83,132 pilgrims from Pakistan among them.

According to an official, Saudi Arabia expressed its intention to increase the Hajj quota in a direct discussion with Pakistani officials.

He stated that the kingdom intended to reinstate the old Hajj quota for the entire world, including Pakistan. If the ruling is carried out, nearly 179,000 Pakistani pilgrims will participate in the pilgrimage next year.
