Banks to remain close on January 2nd. The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and all other banks will be close for public dealing on Monday, January 2, 2023, which will be observed as a ‘Bank Holiday’ countrywide.
All banks/DFIs/MFBs will remain closed to the public. The employees of all these institutions will carry out their official assignments on the Bank Holiday which includes in-office working, work-from-home, as designated under the current protocols, which will be observed as a working day (except for public dealing).
According to an announcement by the central bank, the central bank will be closed “for public dealing on Monday, January 2, 2023, which will be observed as ‘Bank Holiday’”
The statement continued, “All banks/ DFIs/ MFBs shall, therefore, remain closed for public dealing on the aforementioned date. However, employees of the banks/ DFIs/ MFBs will attend the office as usual”.
