Lahore reports 19 more cases of Omicron in last few hours

LAHORE: In the previous 24 hours, the provincial health department in Lahore has treated 19 additional Omicron variant cases.

In Punjab, there are already 177 confirmed instances of the Omicron form of coronavirus. The majority of these incidents have taken place in the provincial capital.
Provincial Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid, on the other hand, recently tested positive for the coronavirus. Her samples have been sent to a lab for genome sequencing, which validates the precise strain of the virus, and a report will be obtained tomorrow, according to the health department.

According to Dr. Yasmin, Omicron is the most transmissible strain that spreads quickly, and she advises individuals to follow SOPs to keep the virus at bay.

Covid-19 cases are on the rise across the country, with 898 new infections reported in the preceding 24 hours and a 1.80% positivity rate.
