One of the two buildings housing the Pakistan Embassy in the United States will be put up for auction by the government.
According to reports in the local media, the Pakistani embassy in the US has received new instructions to sell the vacant building, which is worth more than $1 billion in Pakistani currency.
The abandoned building, which is situated in the heart of Washington, DC, was abandoned about 15 years ago.
The sale of two buildings owned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been approved by the federal cabinet, according to Federal Information Minister Marriaym Aurangzeb, who stated earlier this month that the decision was made in a meeting presided over by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
The PML-N leader revealed that the Pakistani government had to pay $1.3 million in tax if the buildings are not sold timely.
