Besharam Rang: Deepika Padukone serenades Shah Rukh Khan in exotic Spain
On Monday morning, the cast and crew of the eagerly anticipated movie Pathaan released the first song. The upbeat dance number, Besharam Rang, shows the lead actors, Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, romancing one another in exotic locations in Europe. Fans were pleased with the vibe of the big-scale song and many demanded more trailers for the movie right away.
The song opens with Spanish lyrics as we see visuals of Deepika, wearing a golden monokini jumping into a pool, and then emerging out of it. Shah Rukh Khan, wearing a beach shirt and fedora, then arrives poolside and looks on. She then dances as the lyrics talk about losing one’s heart to someone and the world being unaware of one’s ‘besharam rang’ (unabashed side). Shah Rukh, now dressed in all white, smirks as he watches.
Pretty soon, Shah Rukh goes shirtless showing off his chiselled bod and joins Deepika on the makeshift dance floor, which seems to be on a beachfront shack. The action then moves to a pristine beach where Shah Rukh and Deepika dance away as drummers play rhythmic beats.
Fans praised the song’s beats and music as well as the lead pair’s chemistry. “They are too hot to handle,” read one comment. Another said, “This is the party anthem of the year.” Many fans compared Deepika’s look to some of her earlier songs like Jugni and Khuda Jaane.
Kumaar wrote the lyrics for Besharam Rang, which was composed by Vishal-Sheykhar. Vishal Dadlani, the song’s composer and singer, wrote the song’s Spanish lyrics. With choreography by Vaibhavi Merchant, the song was performed by Shilpa Rao, Caralisa Monteiro, Vishal, and Sheykhar. Fans got their first glimpse of the song’s vibrant visuals when paparazzi pictures from last year’s filming of the song in Spain by Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika appeared online. On November 2, Shah Rukh’s birthday, a teaser for the movie was released. It featured clips from the music video as well. The celebrity increased fans’ interest by posting the first looks of Deepika and himself on social media over the last three to four days.
Pathaan marks Shah Rukh Khan’s return to the big screen in over four years. The action thriller also stars John Abraham and is directed by Siddharth Aanand. The film is scheduled to be released in theatres on January 25, 2023. It will be released in Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions apart from Hindi.
