PESHAWAR: According to the local news, the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) human trafficking cell apprehended four human traffickers in Peshawar on Friday who were assisting people in unlawfully crossing the Pak-Afghan border.
The FIA squad searched Jhangi Muhallah Bazar in Peshawar’s Qissa Khuwani district and detained four human trafficking suspects.
The arrested people’s possessions included fake Afghan Interior Ministry, Immigration, and Education department stamps, as well as marriage certificates, according to the FIA squad.
When the raid was carried out, officers from the Federal Investigation Agency stated that suspects were generating fraudulent immigration credentials. According to them, the detained were assisting people in illegally crossing the Pakistan-Afghan border.
The FIA has confirmed that three of the human traffickers arrested are Pakistani nationals who live in Peshawar, while the fourth is an Afghan national.
Separately, the Federal Investigation Agency arrested two Individual Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) officers earlier this year for allegedly illegally assisting a foreign national in obtaining a Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC).
Assistant Director Hamad Hussain and Senior Executive Rizwan Khan were arrested by the FIA’s Anti-Human Trafficking Wing.
According to sources familiar with the situation, a 46-year-old foreigner named Javed obtained a national identity card from NADRA with the help of Hamad Hussain.
