Punjab becomes first province to launch Web 3.0 portal

On Monday, a dedicated website (web3.punjab.gov.pk/) was opened to allow Web 3.0 contributors, including as researchers, scientists, and IT industry professionals, to register. Companies working with Web 3.0 technology both domestically and internationally will be able to provide their insightful input through the portal. The portal was introduced during the inaugural meeting of the powerful committee Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, the Chief Minister of Punjab, had assembled to discuss the adoption of Web 3.0 in the region.

Punjab Information Technology (IT) Minister Dr. Arslan Khalid and Punjab Finance Minister Mohsin Leghari presided over the meeting, which was held at Arfa Soft­ware Technology Park (ASTP). The prominent committee members, including Syed Bilal Haider, Chairman of the PITB, Dr. Hussain Nadim, Policy and Domain Expert, and specialists from the ICT sector, including Anooshay Shaigan, Sabina Zafar, Badar Khushnood, and Faisal Chaudhry, were present at the meeting. In addition, there were representatives from the SBP, NBP, BOP, FBR, SECP, NetSol CEO Salim Ghauri, Systems CEO Asif Pir, Techlogix CEO Salman Akhtar, STEPS CEO Umar Farooq, P@SHA Chairman Zohaib Khan, ITU VC Dr. Sarfraz Khurshid, and PITB DG e-Governance Sajid Latif.
