Why hop shoots are considered as most expensive vegetable in the world?
There are delicacies that won’t put your savings at risk because price isn’t necessarily a good indication of quality. But when it comes to expensive and exotic foods, we typically think of things like saffron and Himalayan wild mushrooms.
However, there is a vegetable whose cost can dwarf those of the others.
This vegetable is known as “hop shoots,” and it is renowned as the priciest vegetable in the world in European nations. The vegetable, which costs approximately Rs. 85,000 per kg and is frequently not grown in India, is well-known for its medicinal qualities. According to sources, Himachal Pradesh is where it was initially planted.
According to a research, the only reason hop shoots are so expensive is because they are “back-breaking to harvest.” Hop shoots range in price according on their quality. This vegetable is not only expensive but also difficult to get in the market. The most expensive vegetable in the world, hop shoots, costs as much as a bike or a piece of gold jewellery.
