Gas suffocation in Hangu

On Tuesday, six members of a family, including three children, died in Hangu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, from gas suffocation.

The tragedy struck a family in Hangu’s Gulshan Colony, where the family slept with their gas heater turned on. The gas supply was turned off overnight, and when it was turned back on, the gas filled the room where the family was resting, killing them.

A male, two women, and three children were among the dead from gas suffocation in Hangu.

The victims had allegedly kept the gas heater on in their bedroom to shield themselves from the bitter cold at night. However, the flame was extinguished due to gas load shedding. When the gas supply was restored, the gas vapours did not burn and continued to flood the room, lulling the convicts to death.

When the family did not arrive home until late in the morning, the neighbours became suspicious and began banging on the doors. The residents decided to break down the door after receiving no response. When the neighbours entered the room, they discovered all six members of the family dead in their beds.

A man and his daughter were discovered dead in their Sakrand home on December 20th, killed by a gas leak. Shani Solangi and his six-year-old daughter died as a result of a gas leak from their room’s heater.

According to investigators, the room caught fire while the victims were sleeping.

In the Astore district of Gilgit-Baltistan, a newlywed couple was discovered dead at their home in October from gas suffocation. According to rescuers, the individuals died as a result of a gas leak in their room. The couple had just been married for three days.
