Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, the federal minister of finance and revenue, has mandated an investigation into the disclosure of the army chief’s and his family’s tax information.
The illegal and unnecessary disclosure of tax information pertaining to the family members of General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff, has been seriously noted by the Finance frontman (COAS).
According to a news release from the Ministry of Finance, this plainly violates the law’s requirement for complete secrecy of tax information.
The Finance Minister has instructed the SAPM on Revenue Tariq Mehmood Pasha to personally lead an immediate investigation into the violation of tax law and breach of FBR data, ascribe responsibility and submit a report within twenty-four hours in light of this serious mistake on the part of to-date unknown functionaries.
