Cristiano Ronaldo speaks up on his retirement, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, has declared that if Portugal wins the FIFA World Cup in Qatar this year, he will stop playing football professionally.
The 37-year-old footballer gained notoriety for his explosive interview with Piers Morgan, in which he made some audacious claims about his current club, Manchester United, including remarks about the club’s coach, staff, owners, and even the younger players.
He has also discussed his retirement plans. If the national team wins the FIFA World Cup in Qatar this year, Ronaldo said in an interview with British journalist Piers Morgan, he will “100% hang up his boots.”
If Portugal does not win the World Cup, Ronaldo said he still intends to compete at the highest level until he is 40 years old, but he also cautioned that “you never know” what’s going to happen and that things don’t always go as planned.

“I intend to retire at age 40. I believe that 40 will be a terrific age. But I have no idea; I have no idea what lies ahead. Sometimes you make a life plan, but as I’ve said numerous times, life is dynamic. Additionally, you never know what will occur,” remarked Cristiano Ronaldo.
