Pakistan’s government reverses ban on “Joyland”
According to the recent details, ban on the release of film Joyland has been reversed by the Government of Pakistan. Pakista’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif formed the committee,reviewed the film and decided for few scenes to be censored from the film.Now, the film is allowed to screen all across Pakistan in cinemas.
The nationwide protests on social media by the country’s famous personalities and fans played a significant role in reversing the ban on the film’s release. People widely used the hastag #ReleaseJoyland everywhere on social media.

Joyland, a film produced by Khoosat Films, has been previously banned by the Government of Pakistan.
The movie was scheduled to premiere on November 18 across Pakistan. The Pakistani Ministry of Information and Broadcasting issued orders on November 11th that made it clear that the censor board had previously approved the movie but has since changed its mind.
Pakistan bans “Joyland” for having “very objectionable material”. The story of the youngest son of a middle-class patriarchal Rana family, who joins theatre and eventually falls in love with a Trans starlet, is the focus of this Lahore-set movie. His love tale reveals the aspirations and darkest secrets of the whole Rana family.
Joyland has received a ton of international acclaim. It had its debut screening at Cannes 2022, where the jury and crowd gave it a standing ovation. It later premieres at the American Film Institute Festival and the Toronto Film Festival.

The movie was now making its way to light up the theatres after achieving so many international premieres. Alina Khan, Ali Junejo, Sania Saeed, and Sarwat Gillani play the leading characters in Saim Sadiq’s film.
