Lakki Marwat terrorist attack; 6 officers martyred
On Wednesday, two terrorists on a motorcycle opened fire on a police van in Lakki Marwat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), killing six (6) officers.
Police said that on Abbasa Road, Wanda Shahab Khel, within the boundaries of Dadewala Police Station, terrorists attacked the police van.
Police officers ASI Ilm Deen, Detective Foot Constable Ahmed Nawaz, Lower Head Constable Zubair, Sepoy Usman Ali of the Frontier Reserve Police, Constable Mahmood Khan, and Driver Dil Jan are among the martyred officers.
However, on Friday, a second police officer was killed in Lakki Marwat by thugs. Sadar Nawaz, the head constable, was born in the Wanda Shahabkhel hamlet in the Kurrum Par region and raised in the Michenkhel neighbourhood of Lakki City.
Law enforcement organisations started a search operation in the area after the attack to find the perpetrators.
The terrorists are Pakistan’s enemies, according to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and every effort would be made to protect the nation.
PM Shehbaz Sharif strongly denounced the terrorist attack on a police van in Lakki Marwat on Wednesday in a statement. He paid respects to the six police officers who were martyred. He declared that the entire country honours the native boys who gave their lives in defence of the motherland.
He requested that the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa promptly declare the Shuhada package for the killed police officers.
Shehbaz Sharif sent condolences to the grieving family and prayed for the souls of the deceased.
Let us make no mistake. Terrorism continues to be one of Pakistan's foremost problems. Our armed forces & police have valiently fought the scourge. No words are enough to condemn terrorists' attack on a police van in Lakki Marwat. My thoughts & prayers are with bereaved families.
