Shahbaz predicts Pakistan's downfall if PTI led government not sent packing

LAHORE: PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif predicted Pakistan’s downfall on Thursday if the PTI-led government is not deposed.

“God forbid, if this administration is not deposed, we may see Pakistan’s khuda hafiz — so brace yourselves,” the PML-N president remarked at a party meeting in Lahore.

The PML-N president asserted that the time has come to end the government “that was formed as a result of rigging,” and that Quaid-e-Azam “may be turning in his grave” because of it.

He slammed the PTI’s policies, saying: “The existence of a NAB-Nazi nexus was revealed to me 3.5 years ago. They’ve given the IMF (International Monetary Fund) a mortgage on the country.”

He remarked that if Prime Minister Imran Khan enjoys launching projects “that much,” he should have told him because he would give him a plaque for “unveiling so many plaques.”

Khawaja Saad Rafique, the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and a former federal minister, has foretold Imran Khan’s “political death” in the near future.

Rafique urged the PML-N and the PPP to join forces and launch a political struggle, claiming that Imran Khan was not a member of the political fraternity.

The former federal minister stated that the only way to move the country forward was to join hands, noting that pulling each other’s legs would not help them progress.

“The state faces internal dangers; we must believe that we would be protected only if the country remains; thus, do not jeopardize the country’s integrity,” the PML-N leader advised.

When a group staged a sit-in, Rafique recommended the state not to patronize them and not to give in.

PML-N leader Khawaja Asif, speaking at the same occasion, said the PTI-led government had turned “politics into obscenity,” adding that Imran Khan “had invented some new traditions.”

“In the previous three and a half years, we’ve witnessed various things […] Shabbar Zaidi and Razak Dawood are claiming that the government is bankrupt.”

“How will the forgiveness process begin if the administration refuses to admit its wrongdoing?” he wondered.
