Pakistan's politics will fall apart without PM: Fawad

Fawad Hussain Chaudhry, the Federal Minister for Information, stated on Tuesday that without Imran Khan, Pakistan’s politics will fall apart, thus PTI workers must rally behind him.

After the cabinet meeting in Islamabad, Fawad briefed the media, describing Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s victory in the first phase of local body elections in KP as “unfortunate for society.”

In response to his ruling party’s loss in the LB polls, he stated that when three to four members of the same party run for the same seat, they will lose and Pakistan’s politics will fall apart without Imran Khan.

He advised party leaders and workers to put their differences aside for the time being and support Imran Khan.

He went on to say that political dwarves strive to boost their prominence by insulting Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Pakistan’s politics will fall apart without a PM, said Fawad.

Fawad stated that giving power to individuals who oppose women’s rights and support religiously violent policies such as JUI-F is not encouraging for any society.

Parties like the JUI, according to the information minister, cannot be a substitute for the PTI.

In response to the tapes controversy, Fawad remarked that anytime the situation for his administration deteriorated, Maryam Nawaz never failed to bring them out. He went on to say that the tape that is currently playing is a link in the same chain.

He claimed that Asif Ali Zardari had failed to get a deal as a result of his public statements.

Those who talk about managing the economy today are the same people who drowned the economy by obtaining loans during their previous governments. He claimed that his government will have to return a $55 billion loan taken out during the tenures of Nawaz Sharif and Asif Zardari in five years.

They had paid IPPs Rs134 billion, he claimed, adding that these payments were made as a result of costly transactions struck under the Shahbaz Sharif and Nawaz Sharif governments.

They’ve put in expensive plants that run on imported fuel, resulting in today’s exorbitant electricity prices, he said, adding that an IPP can create 100 MW of electricity, and if we only require 25 MW, we’ll have to pay for 100 MW.

The OIC summit will take place in March, according to Fawad, and Kashmir will be a key component of it.

He claimed that car production in Pakistan has expanded by 69 percent, with sales of the Suzuki Cultus up 161 percent, the Suzuki Wagon R up 79 percent, the Suzuki Bolan up 32 percent, and the Suzuki Alto up 180 percent. He further stated that 85 percent of motorcycles are made in Pakistan, as are their parts.

He posed the question, “How have these things increased if the economy is down?” in relation to the aforementioned increase.

In any case, he went on to say that during the PTI administration, power consumption climbed by 13% and fuel consumption increased by 26%, while the construction, agriculture, and textile sectors all saw historic gains.

According to the minister, foreign exchange reserves have climbed from $20.3 billion to $25.2 billion, while export volume has increased by 29% over the previous year.

There are currently 200,000 firms registered with the SECP in Pakistan, with 150,000 of them being founded and registered during the PTI’s three-year rule.

He stated that he will make a request for a ministerial meeting with the Chief Election Commissioner tomorrow. He stated that the Cabinet has proposed that Section 22 of the Election Act be amended.

A summary of contract personnel was provided to the Cabinet, according to Fawad. He noted that the government’s loans had been approved by the cabinet.

In KP, the cabinet meeting approved the nomination of official members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants as well as members of the Human Commission for Children, he said.

He stated that the cabinet has authorized the appointment of Najam Riaz as Saudi Arabia’s Commercial Attaché.

Fawad also asserted that while the cost of power has not increased, the cost of fuel adjustment costs has.
