UK to help Pakistan in climate-resilient reconstruction of infrastructure

The United Kingdom’s government has pledged to help with climate-resilient infrastructure rehabilitation in Pakistan.

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs, met with Dr. Christian Turner, British High Commissioner to Pakistan, in his office today. Mr. Kazim Niaz, Federal Secretary of EAD, Humair Karim, Additional Secretary of EAD, and Jo Moir, Development Director, FCDO at the Ministry of Economic Affairs attended the meeting.

The Minister for Economic Affairs greeted the British High Commissioner and praised the United Kingdom’s role as one of Pakistan’s key bilateral partners.

The British envoy expressed his heartfelt sympathies for the loss of life and widespread devastation inflicted by Pakistan’s terrible floods. He informed the Minister of the UK government’s flood relief support and emphasized that the UK will assist with climate resilience reconstruction. The Minister thanked everyone for their help.
