Shan Masood, Pakistan’s top-order hitter, was taken to the hospital after being hit on the head during a net practice at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
According to sources, during a training session, all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz blasted a shot that smacked Masood in the head.
After Mohammed Nawaz’s shot struck him, the left-hander lay on the ground for 5-7 minutes.
The 33-year-old has played 12 Twenty20 Internationals for Pakistan, scoring 220 runs at a strike rate of 125.00 with two fifties.
On October 23, Pakistan and India will square off at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) (Sunday).
According to weather forecasts, there is an 85% chance of rain in Melbourne on Sunday, which could hamper the impending match between the arch-rivals.
Rain is expected in the state both in the morning and in the evening, according to Melbourne Weather Forecast.
If the game is rained out, there is no allocated day for it, so both teams will split the points.
