The chief minister directed the officials concerned that families should be informed about the free health initiative to ensure prior preparedness. He added that the youngest children should be prioritised to ensure that their cognitive learning abilities were restored on priority basis.

He said that hearing ability was directly linked with cognitive learning and any disorder directly affected the overall learning process among children. He added that immediate treatment of children suffering from the disease was of paramount importance to enable them to live a complete, healthy and normal life.

Mr. Khan said that the provincial government was not only aware of the problems faced by people in the health sector but had also taken multiple steps to provide quality and free healthcare to them.

He said that extension of Sehat Card Plus programme to the entire province was an unprecedented effort of the government under which millions of people received cashless treatment facilities.

“Apart from this, significant resources are being spent on revamping the hospitals and healthcare centres in the province to provide the best treatment facilities to people at their doorsteps,” he said.
