Our country Pakistan is still standing because of good people. Being a retired Government Servant and belonging to Lahore, sharing a worth it experience here. I returned from UN Peacekeeping Mission in Sudan back in 2009 and purchased a plot in L Block LDA Avenue 1 from my Mission earnings. Due to other plots being in litigation, my plot including the other block also remained under litigation.
Buying and selling wasn’t possible and for almost 12 years there was such a state of despair as to when the court cases would be over and I would be able to build a house. An angel was sent by Allah who turned hopelessness into hope as if a civil servant cannot be affiliated with any political party but now I am retired and such a great person responded to my message on WhatsApp number. He contacted me who is now the Vice Chairman of LDA. Yes, he is Mian Aslam Iqbal who belongs to PTI and is presently Vice Chairman of LDA Lahore.
Sometimes Almighty Allah sent people to help those in need. I shared my problem without having acquaintance with Mian Aslam Iqbal, and the only answer was that it is “Okay I will see”. I could understand that okay is just an answer to take time, but I was surprised when a Deputy Director from LDA called me on the behalf of Mian Aslam Iqbal and asked me about the issue. I can’t believe that after 12 years, a glimmer of hope was awakened and the issue of my plot in L block, which was bought with halal earnings, was resolved.
I felt that this is not Pakistan but a European country where the society and government work for a legitimate cause and for the welfare of the people. I hope our country prospers where people like Mian Aslam Iqbal are a ray of hope.
