Most UAE residents plan to travel in 12 months: study

According to a survey, the United Arab Emirates is the leader in terms of travel, with 93% of residents planning to take a vacation within the next 12 months and 45% of these trips taking place immediately leading up to and throughout winter.

New research by Marriott Bonvoy, the award-winning travel programme of Marriott International, reveals that not only are so many people in the UAE planning a vacation before February 2023, but seven in ten (70%) of those intend to spend more than in previous years to ensure a memorable trip.

More than three-quarters (75%) of those who are planning a vacation intending to cross a destination off their travel bucket list this holiday season, with nearly half (48%) eager to visit previously unvisited locales.

A third (33%) of UAE adults have missed discovering new places and cultures as a result of the pandemic, leading to a fifth’s (20%) intention to travel more. Almost one-third (31%) of UAE residents are planning vacations that will allow them to be adventurous (13%), such as skydiving, soaking up the local culture (10%), or doing something experiential (8%) such as attending an iconic sporting event, according to a study.

Moreover, two-fifths (40%) of UAE residents have missed spending quality time with loved ones while on vacation, leading more than half (55%) of travellers to want to travel with their families. Moreover, twenty per cent of people say that travel centred on spending time with people now tops their bucket list.
