India: Pilot dies in Army chopper crash
An Army helicopter crash in Arunachal Pradesh leaves pilot dead. According to the Indian Army, a Cheetah helicopter crash in Arunachal Pradesh this morning claimed the lives of two pilots and injured a third. Around 10 am, the army helicopter was reported to have crashed in a forested area close to Tawang.
Two pilots were present in the Cheetah helicopter, which was travelling as regular. Both of them were sent to the closest military hospital, but Lt Col Saurabh Yadav, who was seriously hurt, passed away while receiving medical attention, according to the Indian Army. The co-pilot is receiving medical care.
“The cause of the crash at this stage is not known. Details are being ascertained,” a statement from the Indian army.

In Jammu and Kashmir’s March of this year, a second Army Cheetah helicopter crashed not far from the Line of Control. The co-pilot suffered a grave injury, and the pilot passed away.
An Air Force helicopter crash in Tamil Nadu claimed the life of former Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Bipin Rawat in late last year. In addition to him, his wife and 12 other people also perished in the crash in December.
