Senate passes PMDC Amendment bill 2022

Senate passes the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) ammendment bill of the year 2022.

The passage of the bill has brought about a change in the future of medical and dental professionals across the country. With the return of the PMDC as the main regulatory body for decision-making, a major change has been made for medical and dental graduates.

Undergraduate students in the medical and dental professions are no longer required to take the NLE exams. NLE exams have been completely removed.

The MDCAT will however take place as previously announced by the respective provinces.

Senate passes PMDC Amendment bill 2022

Features of this bill includes a new Council of PMDC will be constituted, PMC Act 2020 has been abolished, MDCAT will be conducted at provincial level, NLE exams has been abolished and NRE exams will be held twice a year for Pakistani foreign graduate students.
