Humayoun Ashraf exposes “use and throw” ethos in Showbiz
The popular soap opera Rang Mahal’s current star, actor Humayoun Ashraf, made an appearance on Naumaan Ijaz’s programme “G Sarkar”. The Inteqam actor discussed the murky aspects of the entertainment business and revealed how he became involved in them.
After a lengthy hiatus, Ashraf made a comeback on the big screen with Rang Mahal in the role of villain. Although he admitted that he was initially skeptical, the serial ended up being a big success.
Speaking of his experience in the showbiz industry, Humayoun claimed that everyone pulls other’s legs.
Humayoun Ashraf exposes the “use and toss” ethos in entertainment business by saying “I fell prey to conspiracy”, “I was a victim of the industry’s plot. Everyone in this room is not your friend, therefore if someone is being polite to you, there is probably a good reason for it. They generally want to use you or ask you for a favour, and after that’s done, they leave you behind,” he added.

Ashraf added , “I have generally done nice roles but my negative roles are more popular among the audience,” when the host questioned him about why he had decided to only play negative characters.
In popular drama serials as Manjhdar, Haasil, Tere Bina, Saza-e-Ishq, Rang Mahal, and Inteqam, the celebrity has made appearances. For his part in the television series Ishq Hamari Galiyon Mein, he also received the 2013 Hum Award for Best Soap Actor.
