With the rising trends of gifts and services on social media, female entrepreneurs are considering it as a source of running their businesses successfully. As Covid19 posed unprecedented challenges to people elsewhere in the world, including in Pakistan which other side paved the way for young entrepreneurs to come up with innovative ideas.
Hamna Nauman Butt started her own business dealing in customized gifts/baskets for all events and home decor products, named Scarletaro Official. Following is her short interview given to The Asian Mirror:
What inspired you to start this initiative?
Basically, nothing inspired me to start this. As you know that because of Covid19 many of us faced bad situations/financial breakdowns etc and just because of Covid19 my father also got jobless we became financially too much down that even my father was not able to pay my admission fees to the university.
That was the reason why I started this business. You can say that I started this to become independent or to bear my own expenses.
What were the challenges you had to face as young entrepreneurs?
My journey was extremely tough and still going tough, as I told you that my family was not even able to pay my fee so I have not even a penny to invest. In that scenario, the managing budget was the main difficulty that I faced as a young entrepreneur.
Do you think our country promotes such entrepreneurs?
Our country doesn’t promote such entrepreneurs. They just support and hold those ones who are already on top. In a patriarchal society, female entrepreneurs have to encounter a number of challenges in a state like Pakistan.
Where do you see yourself in the coming years?
I want to be successful and want to overcome my financial crisis so still working on this InshaAllah I am seeing myself as a successful entrepreneur in the future.
