Tesla owner locked in car as battery dies
The owner of Tesla claims he was locked in his car after its battery expired, and the cost of replacement is $26K.
In Vail, Colorado, a Tesla electric automobile is adorned with the company emblem. According to a Tesla owner in Canada, his $140,000 car is locked out when the battery died, and the electric car company told him a replacement would cost $26,000.
In a video he shared on TikTok, Mario Zelaya said that its “piece of junk” Model S had broken down and that he couldn’t get outside because it was locked. The video’s title reads: “A new battery costs $26K. The car is locked out. There must be recalls”.
The fluid from the air conditioning system, he claimed, has a tendency to leak onto the battery, and models from 2013 and 2014 have this problem. He claimed to have bought the car in 2013.
“Transport Canada actually looked into the car after I involved them. Not only did they conduct an investigation into this vehicle, but they also plan to conduct one that Tesla is not yet aware of”.
He claimed to have spoken with another Tesla owner, who reported experiencing the same problems with the car battery. Tesla terminated the owner’s Uber credits, according to Zelaya, while the car was being repaired.
Tesla is attempting to hide the issue, he claimed, “They refuse to provide them with a reason as to why their battery failed.”
Additionally, he asserted that service facilities do not have any reason to examine the battery when servicing Tesla users’ cars. Zelaya claimed that even though he is a year past the end of the car’s warranty and wishes to sell it, he is unable to do so since the ownership documents are kept in the locked vehicle. Instead, he said, he spent $30 on fresh papers.
Zelaya declared, “I’ll never buy another Tesla again. That is my long-winded way of saying stay away from Tesla. They make horrible automobiles, and what’s worse, they’re a 10-year-old business.”
In another video that was uploaded this week, Zelaya claimed to have sold the vehicle and that it will be picked up from his driveway. The car’s front bumper is then removed by the alleged buyer, who is subsequently shown charging the vehicle.
“That will mark the conclusion of my Tesla experience. I’m done with it. Don’t let it enter yours”, he said.

In recent months, some Tesla owners have expressed worries about their cars. In an effort to draw Elon Musk’s attention to a long list of alleged issues with their vehicles, a group of owners in Norway embarked on a hunger strike in August.
