D I Khan: Educational boards Merger Plan opposed

Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) D I Khan will not be allowed to merge with Peshawar Board from Dera Ismail Khan under any circumstances. It is strictly opposed by board employees, political parties and educational organizations.

These views were expressed by the speaker of an All-Party Conference (APC) which was held in front of the BISE D I Khan against the merger of KP’s educational boards into a single Peshawar Board.

An All-Party Conference (APC) was held in front of BISE Dera Ismail Khan in which local leaders of different political parties, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board Employees Ordination Council, All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA), Board employees, other government organizations, and representatives of private schools participated.

The APC participants said, by merging the 7 education boards of the Kp including BISE D I Khan, BISE Bannu, BISE Abbottabad, BISE Malakand, BISE Swat, BISE Mardan, and BISE Kohat into one BISE Peshawar, there is concern among the BISE D I khan employees and this merger will not only affect the employees but also the students studying in the institutions affiliated to the said boards and their parents will also suffer from difficulties.

The speakers said, if BISE D I Khan is merged into Peshawar Board, they will expand their protest and will stage a sit-in in front of Bani Gala, Islamabad, and Chief Minister House, Peshawar.

Ex-Member Of National Assembly and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PM-N) leader and President of Tank District Dawar Kundi said, no one can be allowed to encroach on the rights of Dera Ismail Khan, the BISE D I Khan was acquired through hard work and the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa does not have any right to merge BISE D I Khan into Peshawar Board.

Dawar Kundi further said, this problem is not of any one political party but of all the parties, all political parties of Dera Ismail Khan should unite for the sake of the rights of Dera Ismail Khan and defeat the struggle of the Provincial Government.

The speakers including Furqan Baloch, Chohdri Ashfaq, Haneef Shah, and Iftikhar Barakzai said that this merger of board decisions is the problem of our future generations, after the failed policies of the provincial government, now they are looking at the funds of 8 educational boards across the province including BISE D I Khan.

“On the one hand, the government is claiming to make education universal, on the other hand, it wants to deprive the children of the poor of education by merging the boards into the Peshawar board, our future generations will not forgive us if we remain silent on this issue,” they said.

The Haji Fida Hussain Baloch District President of APCA D I Khan will continue their protest strike until the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Government reverses its cruel decision to merge Educational Boards.

The speakers deplored that instead of enhancing facility-mechanism, the incumbent provincial government was bent upon to collapse the existing education procedure which was acceptable to some extent. They added that the decision would create problems for students and educational institutions of the region.

The board union’s representatives vowed that the Intermediate Examination 2022 results would not be declared until their demands were not met. They reiterated their opposition to the decision of merger of the boards into the Peshawar Board at every platform.

After the Conference, A Protest Rally was also held against the merger of boards in which the demonstrators chanted slogans against the provincial government and demanded the reversal of the education board merger decision.
