Hundreds of world leaders gathered, billions expected to watch around the world, and the last members of the long, epic line of mourners paid their last respects. Britain is now set to lay to rest its longest-serving monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, marking the end of a defining reign.
The Royal Family joined 2,000 dignitaries at the state funeral after escorting the Queen’s coffin to Westminster Abbey as huge crowds lined the streets of London.
King Charles III and his siblings, along with the Queen’s grandsons Prince William and Harry, will then lead the solemn procession behind his coffin and through the heart of the British capital.
Elizabeth will then make her final trip to Windsor where she will be buried with her late husband Prince Philip just over a year after his death.
