Chandigarh University leaked videos: Students end protest after police ensure fair probe
Early on Monday, students at a private university in Punjab’s Gharuan put an end to their demonstration, which started as a result of claims that a female student had released some inappropriate videos of other students, according to the police.
The demonstration has ended, Kharar (I) Deputy Superintendent of Police Rupinder Kaur Sohi told The Indian Express. After receiving assurances from the district and university authorities that their desire for an impartial investigation would be granted, the students stopped their demonstration. The students left the protest location by 3.30 am after the demonstration, which ended around 2 am.
After learning about the incident, students organized a sizable demonstration on the university campus on Sunday. The university administrators’ assertion that the accused woman did not video any other girls was disputed by the students, who also demanded a fair investigation. Without a forensic analysis, they questioned the assertions made by the authorities.
The administration of Chandigarh University declined requests for comment on the demands it had acceded to.

The students had demanded a copy of the FIR, that the female students who had been transported to the hospital appear in front of them, and that the hostel wardens’ performance be scrutinized.
As the university was closed, lots of students went home.
