Decade-long deadliest land dispute in South Waziristan resolved
The deadliest land dispute which lasted for more than 12 years between Adaa Khel and Khanddey Khel sub-tribes of Wazir tribe at Angoor Adda, South Waziristan resolved after the final decision made in a Jirga by Additional Assistant Commissioner (AAC) Wana Dr. Sadiq Ali.
Additional Assistant Commissioner (AAC) Wana Dr. Sadiq Ali said, the 12-year-long land dispute between the Adaa Khel and Khanddey Khel sub-tribes of Wazir tribe has been successfully resolved by the District Administration of South Waziristan.
Additional Assistant Commissioner (AAC) Wana Dr. Sadiq Ali, Major Mohsin of 24 Brigade of Pak Army, Vice-Tehsildar of Burmal area and mediators of Ahmed Zai Wazir tribe along with other tribal mediators and scholars held separate Jirgas with Adaa Khel and Khanddey Khel sub-tribes of Wazir Tribe and a final decision was made after the Jirgas.
After final Jirgas with both tribes, both accepted the decision and a settlement was signed by the chieftains and leaders of both tribes and the arbitrators.
There was also a misunderstanding about the demarcation of land which was also clarified by the arbitrators during the Jirga.
It was decided to start proper planning and schedule measurement for final demarcation on Monday 19/09/2022.
After signing the settlement, both tribes agreed to a ceasefire and withdrew their armed troops.
Adaa Khel and Khanddey Khel tribes were directed by the AAC Sr. Sadiq Ali to remain peaceful and not to create any law and order situation until final measurement and demarcation otherwise the violators will be arrested and action will be taken as per law.
Decade-long deadliest land dispute in South Waziristan resolved
The elders, scholars and mediators appreciated the efforts of the district administration of South Waziristan in resolving the land dispute issue of both tribes peacefully.
It should be noted that the construction work will resume at the Angoor Adda which was stopped by the Adaa Khel tribe due to the land dispute while many were also killed and injured during exchange of fire between the two tribes many times.
