Iranian security agencies pressurize family to bury Mahsa Amini in silence
According to a report by the Kurdish Hengaw Human Rights Organization, the security services of the Islamic Republic are forcing the family of Mahsa (Zhina) Amini to bury their daughter “without any ceremony” and distant from Tehran in order to prevent any “chaos” or “unrest” in the city.
Amini, a native of Saghez, Kurdistan, passed away yesterday in Tehran’s Kasra Hospital after being imprisoned by Iran’s “morality police” for wearing a bad hijab and was injured while being detained.

Mahsa Amini passed away at the young age of 22. Mahsa Amini, 22, was detained by the specialised police unit that enforces the stringent dress code that has been required for women since immediately after the Islamic revolution in 1979 while she was visiting Tehran with her family.
“The circumstances leading to the suspicious death in custody of 22-year-old young woman Mahsa Amini, which include allegations of torture and other ill-treatment in custody, must be criminally investigated”, said by human rights organisation Amnesty International.
However, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi ordered the interior minister to open an inquiry into the case, but Iranian media and other authorities have not highlighted the issue with great concern. Likewise, Press TV, being the top ranked news network did not bother to address the matter at all.
