Former ICC elite panel umpire Asad Rauf passes away
BREAKING: Asad Rauf, a former member of the ICC elite panel and a former Pakistan First Class cricketer, died on Wednesday at the age of 66 in Lahore after a heart arrest.
Tahir Rauf claims that Asad Rauf, his brother, was experiencing chest pain as he made his way home after closing the shop when he subsequently passed away from a cardiac attack.
From 2006 through 2013, Rauf remained a member of the ICC Elite Umpire Panel. Between 1977 and 1991, he played first-class domestic cricket.
Asad Rauf played in 71 first-class games and 40 List A matches for the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC) and the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP)
His first-class debut in 1998 and his first ODI in 2000 marked the official beginning of his umpiring career. In 2004, he was promoted to the ODI panel, and the following year, he presided over his first Test match. He was chosen to join the ICC Elite Panel in April 2006.

Asad Rauf was a prominent umpire for the ICC and had overseen 170 international games. In 49 Tests, 90 One Day Internationals, and 23 Twenty20 Internationals, he served as an umpire.
