US delegation visits flood-hit regions of Pakistan
A US congressional delegation visited Pakistan’s flood-affected areas and “raised hopes” that the US will become a “consistent partner” to help Pakistan during the crisis.
Sheila described the flood as “a deluge of historic proportions”, calling it “the first US delegation to visit the most devastating and deadly flood in Pakistan’s history, I saw as much water as my eyes could see,” he added.
Representatives of the delegation, Representatives Sheila Jackson Lee and Tom Tom, met and heard from locals who “faced the deadly seas” after hearing from military rescuers. “Our delegation hopes that the United States will be an effective and consistent partner in helping Pakistan navigate this humanitarian crisis!” He said that humanity is under attack.
Earlier, the United States expressed its “sadness” over the floods in Pakistan, which has been hit by the worst floods in decades.
State Department spokeswoman Vedant Patel tweeted that the United States was “saddened” by the devastating floods in Pakistan and would continue to provide assistance to flood victims. He also said that the United States is in the “Climate Federation of Pakistan worldwide” at this time.
The Embassy of the US Embassy said Washington has previously offered humanitarian support to support the Pakistan Flood and Associations Association through the US Life Institution (USAID).
