Kangana Ranaut claims about Mahesh Bhatt’s Muslim identity
Kangana Ranaut of Bollywood, who had her playing debut in Mahesh Bhatt’s Gangster in 2006, has now accused the director of hiding his “true” name and of “poetically encouraging people for murder.” Ranaut claimed Bhatt’s “true” name is actually Aslam by posting old recordings of the Hamari Adhuri Kahani director on Instagram.
She went on to ask the director why he stopped using his Muslim name, joking that he should have accepted his “conversion” rather than altering his identity to “represent a certain religion.”
On Sunday, the actor who plays Queen posted a collection of old videos of Bhatt giving speeches and doing interviews. She added commentary about his claimed behaviours to each video, “Mahesh jee casually and poetically inciting people for violence.”
She said in response to one in which Bhatt is heard praising Islam as a peaceful faith and quoting a passage from the Holy Quran. She further added, “I am told his real name is Aslam. He converted to marry his second wife (Soni Razdan) It is a beautiful name, why hide it?”
She “He must use his real name, not represent a certain religion when he has converted.”
It seems that since 2020, Ranaut and Bhatt have been at a crossroads. When she turned down Dhokha, which was directed by his daughter, the filmmaker-actress Pooja Bhatt, at the time, the Simran star accused him of almost beating her. Before the premiere of her film Gangubai Kathiawadi earlier this year, she made a subtle jab at Bhatt and his daughter, actor Alia Bhatt. She remarked on how “wrong” the casting in the movie was, referring to Alia as a “daddy’s angel” and her father as leading a “movie mafia.”

In terms of her professional career, Ranaut will debut this year with Tiku Weds Shiru. Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Avneet Kaur play the leading parts in the love romance. Additionally, she has begun filming on the patriotic drama Emergency, which she will also appear in and direct.
