Army Chief calls for realistic and field training for troops

SIALKOT: On Saturday, Army Chief of Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa has highlighted the significance of “realistic” and “strengthened” field training for troops on Friday, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The army commander made the statements while visiting Chanoki near Chawinda in Sialkot, where he watched the Gujranwala Corps’ ‘Victory Shield’ exercise, according to the military’s media wing.

In his remarks to the troops, Gen Bajwa “emphasized realistic and tough field training,” according to the release.

“Such drills assist boost troops’ confidence, improve cohesiveness and synergy, and maximize fighting potential,” the army commander said.

According to ISPR, Gen Bajwa was briefed on the exercise’s objectives, planning parameters, and conduct procedures, which are aimed at improving the formation’s operational preparedness, which includes defensive and offensive missions in reaction to any opponent misadventure.

The army chief expressed pleasure with the troops’ training and professional abilities.

Lieutenant General Muhammad Aamer, Commander Gujranwala Corps, greeted Gen Bajwa upon his arrival.
