PM postpones his Visit to UAE

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday has announced that his planned visit to UAE has been been postponed, which was scheduled for September 3. The reason for postponement of the visit is the ongoing flood situation in Pakistan.

PM has mentioned on Twitter that”I was set to visit the UAE on September 3 on the invitation of HH the President. We mutually decided to postpone the visit so that I could focus on the ongoing rescue and relief activities,”.

He also praised the humanitarian help given by the states of the world and emphasised that Pakistan would forever be indebted to “our brothers and sisters who have stood by us in this challenge.”

The premier also shared that the UAE has also begun delivering the first tranche of relief goods worth of $50 million for the flood victims in Pakistan.flood victims in Pakistan.

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nayhan assured PM Shahbaz last night, regarding the continuation of aid to the flood victims in Pakistan.

In the start of this week, the authorities from UAE had contacted the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa and has also pledged 20 aircraft full of flood relief equipment for Pakistan’s flood-affected people.

Floods have caused massive destruction across country. Many people including the agricultural lands and animals have been swept away in the flood water. However, government is actively responding this situation by monitoring the ongoing flood situation across Pakistan
