Gauahar Khan comes to rescue Ranbir Kapoor
In her most recent tweet, TV star Gauahar Khan cryptically alluded to Ranbir Kapoor’s recent joke about pregnant wife Alia Bhatt. Gauahar, who co-starred in Rocket Singh: Salesman Of The Year with Ranbir Kapoor in 2009, wrote that people have become too “sensitive” these days and get upset over a “light” joke made by a husband. She wrote on Twitter: “Aaj kal log kuch zyaada hi sensitive hain. If an apni biwi’s halka phulka mazaak karne pe bhi paabandi hai, kya pata kaun kahaan pe offend ho jaaye? Take a chill pill, yaar, take light, and it will solve a lot of the world’s problems (People have become extremely sensitive these days. Even cracking a light joke with your wife is no longer permitted (who knows what might offend people).”

During an Instagram Live session, Ranbir Kapoor said, “Well, I can say somebody has phailoed,” pointing to Alia’s baby bump and adding that it was a “joke.” Ranbir apologized publicly at an event after being slammed for his comment, which was deemed insensitive by a section of the Internet. “First and foremost, I adore my wife with all of my heart. It’s a joke that didn’t go over well. It was not my intent. When I later told Alia about it, she laughed it off. My sense of humor occasionally fails me. On the sets of Brahmastra, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor began dating. They married in April of this year after dating for over four years. The couple is expecting their first child.
Gauahar Khan, who has appeared in films such as Game and Ishaqzaade, was also seen in Amazon Prime Video’s web series Tandav, which starred Saif Ali Khan. Gauahar, a former model, appeared on the show The Khan Sisters, which followed her and her sister Nigaar’s lives. Aside from that, she has appeared in the Hindi version of The Office and reality shows such as Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 3, Bigg Boss 7, and Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 5.
