A recent in-flight announcement made by an IndiGo pilot went popular on social media. The Bangalore to Chandigarh flight’s captain surprised everyone on board by making an announcement in a Punjabi-English hybrid rather than the usual Hindi or English.
The IndiGo pilot was seen on camera addressing the crowd and extending a warm welcome in a video posted to Twitter. The post’s description stated, “Some suggestions from the Captain in a Punjabi English mix to passengers on aircraft Bangalore to Chandigarh.”
The pilot could initially be heard speaking in English. He claimed that although folks in the seats to the left of him would be able to display their photographic prowess, those in the seats to the right would view Hyderabad.
Later, he remarked in Punjabi, that travelers on the left will be able to see Jaipur while those on the right would be able to see Bhopal.
The pilot stated in a funny way that passengers in aisle seats are only able to turn to the left and right and stare at one another. Passengers were split after that. “Which lesson was learned? Sit beside the window, “The captain added in jest”
He continued by making a special mention of all the veterans, paramilitary, and defense personnel aboard. Even more, he asked passengers to keep their masks on and sit still until the jet touched down in Chandigarh.
“Your bags are secure. Please stay seated as long as the doors don’t open. With you, luggage is completely secure “said the pilot.
The video of the flight announcement has gone viral since it was uploaded. It has received thousands of likes and more than 35,000 views.
While one user wrote, “Wow! salute the soldier sailor and his martial lineage,” another said, “Took so many flights to Chandigarh n never got this Captain!!! Kya fayda?” A third added, “excellent! we need more of these jovial addresses. Most don’t bother to listen to the standard mugged-up announcements.” “Superb and beautifully done.. I’d love to be on his flight,” commented fourth.
