Fans of the popular Netflix survival game Squid Game are waiting for season 2 to premiere with bated breath.
Its creator even hinted at the possibility of another Seong Gi-hun.
The streaming service made the official announcement for season two in June of this year.
“It took 12 years to bring the first season of Squid Game to life last year,” its creator teased The Hollywood Reporter. Squid Game, on the other hand, only took 12 days to become the most popular Netflix series ever. As the writer, director, and producer of Squid Game, I’d like to thank all of the fans around the world. Thank you for tuning in and enjoying our show.”
“And now Gi-hun has returned. The Front Man is back. Season 2 is on its way. The man in the suit with ddakji could return. You’ll also meet my Young-boyfriend, hee’s Cheol-su. Join us again for a brand new round.”
While there were no specifics in the vague statement, fans can expect a new series as early as 2023 or as late as 2024.
