Two people killed while five injured in Dera Ismail Khan City as heavy rains hit the Dera Ismail Khan division, on Thursday

In the districts of Dera Ismail Khan and Tank, the citizens have been affected badly as the flash floods from mountains enters the rural part of both districts

According to the Meteorological Department, more than 66 mm of rain has been recorded in Dera Ismail Khan District in the last 24 hours and there is a possibility of rain today (Friday) as well. Due to torrential rains for two days, the low lying areas of Dera and Tank city and the streets of inner cities were filled with water, in many areas the rain water has also entered the houses and shops
Due to the Flood Situation in D I Khan District, Deputy Commissioner D I Khan Nasrullah Khan ordered the closure of all Private and Government Education Institutes for two days (19 August and 20 August) in the entire district

Later, after continuous efforts, the body of the child was found by the local people and workers of WSSC from the drainage channel and transferred to the hospital where he died of his injuries
Similarly, due to rain and slippage near the Go Petrol Pump on Dera-Bannu Road, an elderly citizen riding a motorcycle fell down from the motorcycle and died

Due to torrential rains, electricity and communication systems were disrupted across the Division, while many flood-affected areas are facing difficulties in relief activities due to broken roads
