Laal Singh Chaddha, Aamir Khan’s first movie in four years, premiered in theaters today, August 11, much a surprise for his admirers.
Aamir plays a simpleton with his own interpretation of significant historical events in The Biggie, a remake of Tom Hanks’ Forrest Gump, which has attracted notice. The female lead in Laal Singh Chaddha is played by Kareena Kapoor Khan. This is her third movie with Aamir following Talaash (2012) and 3 Idiots (2009).
Among the cast of Laal Singh Chaddha are Mona Singh, Naga Chaitanya (making his Bollywood debut), and Manav Vij.
Trade expert Joginder Tuteja believes the Advait Chandan-directed film will launch to acceptable figures. He told that “I would anticipate Laal Singh Chaddha to earn between Rs 15 crore and Rs 18 crore at the domestic box office on the opening day.”
Here are the box office results for Aamir Khan’s most recent five movies.
Thugs of Hindostan (2018)
Moviegoers were extremely excited about Thugs of Hindostan because it was Aamir Khan’s first time working with Amitabh Bachchan, a legendary figure in Bollywood. This aided in the movie’s opening-day box office haul of Rs. 52.25 crore. However, because to the weak word-of-mouth, it collapsed on the second day itself.
Despite having a $300 million budget and only earning Rs 151 million during its run, Thugs of Hindostan was a complete failure. Aditya Chopra, working under the Yash Raj Films brand, produced the movie. Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh played the prominent heroines in Thugs of Hindostan.
Secret Superstar (2017)
Secret Superstar, Advait Chandran’s debut film, was not an Aamir Khan movie in the traditional sense. The Bollywood hunk made a lengthy cameo appearance in this Zaira Wasim-led musical drama. However, his merely being associated with the movie helped it earn Rs 4.80 crore on its opening day. Over the course of its existence, Secret Superstar made Rs 63 crore in revenue. Given that it was shot on a Rs. 15 crore budget, this was a remarkable figure.
Dangal (2016)
The wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat was portrayed by Aamir Khan in this sports drama directed by Nitesh Tiwari. The movie received a positive response when it debuted and made Rs 29.9 crore on its first day of sales. It then maintained its strength to become a blockbuster. One of the highest-grossing Indian movies is Dangal, which earned Rs 387 crore throughout the course of its theatrical run.
PK (2014)
The comedy-drama, which was helmed by Rajkumar Hirani, made an amazing Rs 26.63 crore on its opening day. The movie, which cost Rs 85 crore to make, eventually made Rs 340 crore during its run and became a blockbuster. Anushka Sharma played the female protagonist in PK, which was her first collaboration with Aamir Khan. Sanjay Dutt, Boman Irani, and the late Sushant Singh Rajput were among the actors who starred in PK. In the final scene, Ranbir Kapoor made a special appearance.
Dhoom 3 (2012)
In the Dhoom 3 movie, which was supported by Yash Raj Films, Aamir Khan played the adversary against Abhishek Bachchan. Despite receiving varying reviews, it made approximately Rs 36 crore on its opening day. During its run, the movie made close to Rs 284 crore in revenue. Given that movie was produced on a $175 million budget, Dhoom 3 is viewed as a commercial triumph.
