PTI Chairman Imran Khan claims that party leader Shahbaz Gill was abducted rather than arrested.
Imran Khan stated in a tweet on Tuesday, “This is an abduction, not an arrest.” Can such heinous crimes occur in any democracy? Political workers are viewed as adversaries. And all to force us to accept a crooked foreign-backed regime.”
Toeing the party chairman’s line, a former federal minister and senior PTI leader Chaudhry Fawad Hussain stated that Shahbaz Gill was kidnapped by persons in cars with no license plates.
Soon after police snatched away senior PTI leader Shehbaz Gill from Banigala, Islamabad, former Prime Minister, and party Chairman Imran Khan summoned the party’s emergency meeting on Tuesday to examine the crisis stemming from his comrade’s arrest.
According to insiders, the party leadership is considering taking the matter to court today.
All prominent PTI leaders have been ordered by the party’s high command to remain silent in light of their impending detention.
