Speaker of the National Assembly Raja Pervaiz Ashraf accepted the resignations of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf members of the National Assembly on Thursday.
The NA speaker accepted the resignations of PTI MNAs following negotiations with coalition partners. Following the victory of the no-confidence motion against former Prime Minister Imran Khan, all PTI MNAs resigned.
Shireen Mazari, Ali Muhammad Khan, Fazl Muhammad Khan, Shaukat Khan, Fakhar Zaman Khan, Farrukh Habib, Ijaz Shah, Akram Cheema, Jamil Ahmad Khan, Shandana Gulzar, and Abdul Shakoor Shaad were among those whose resignations were accepted.
However, the names of PTI leader Imran Khan and vice chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi were not included on the previous list.
The coalition partners in the PDM are attempting to jointly contest and win these seats in order to strengthen their position in the National Assembly, which is hanging by a thread with a majority of only two votes.
The decision came when the PDM confirmed after their meeting that they would finish their term in the National Assembly.
