Voluntarily became PM to save country, says Shahbaz

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his dissatisfaction with the 2018 general elections on Wednesday, calling them “completely manipulated.”

In his address to the National Assembly, he stated that this parliament is the mother of the 1973 constitution, which is the emblem of unity in Pakistan.

Prime Minister Shehbaz stated that the Pakistan Constitution was drafted under the leadership of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and showed Pakistan to the world as a powerful, dynamic country.

According to the Prime Minister, the Constitution will continue to lead and enhance Pakistan regardless of who attempts to interfere with it.

According to the Prime Minister, the constitution clearly states the authority and powers of all institutes.

He lamented that democracy was never allowed to grow in the country.

The PM stated that he came to power in a constitutional manner and that it was the first time that a change was brought about through parliament rather than by invading the PM House and other constitutional institutes.

“The Results Transmission System (RTS) was closed at night and the counting of votes was stopped by the order of the former chief justice,” he added.

The premier went on to say that the coalition government was aware that Pakistan was on the verge of default, and as a result, the government chose to save the country rather than score political points.

He stated that despite knowing that it would damage their politics, he accepted the post of Prime Minister in order to save the country with the cooperation of his other allies in parliament. He stated that he only offered to take the role this time to save the country, which was on the verge of disaster due to the previous government’s terrible performance over the preceding four years.

He stated that this was not the first time he had been approached about becoming PM.

He said that the establishment, including then-President and military dictator General Pervaiz Musharraf, offered him the position in 1993 and 2002.

He acknowledged that the premiership would not be easy, but he accepted the tough task for the benefit of the people of Pakistan.

He stated that when former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was disqualified over Iqama, a decision he called unjustified, in the Panama case, Nawaz proposed his name for the PM position, but he declined because he wanted to finish his projects in Punjab province to honor the mandate given to him by Punjab people.

He claimed to have many secrets in his heart and that if he shared them, people would be shocked.

PM Shehbaz stated that if they do not discuss the truth today, when will they?

He stated that they would not tolerate discrimination when making a choice since institutes cannot treat one person differently than another.

He claimed that in the past, a Chief Justice would frequently issue suo moto notices to prevent them from operating.

He questioned why the case of foreign funding had not been decided in eight years.

He said that Imran Khan received financing from India and Israel and that he was the foreign agent, not the coalition partners.

He claimed that no one noticed the delay in the foreign money case. He claimed that there were billions of rupees in corruption in Peshawar’s BRT project, but the courts continued to grant stay orders as the federal and KPK governments conspired to avoid accountability.

Similarly, he stated that the Malam Jabba matter had been closed and no one had taken attention.

He said that the NAB closed the case against Moonis Elahi, but no one noticed.

He claimed that the previous government imprisoned opposition leaders’ mothers and daughters while discreetly granting an NRO to Imran Khan’s sister.

He stated that Transparency International has declared the PTI government’s tenure to be the most corrupt in Pakistani history.

He claimed that the institutes fostered Khan for 15 years and worked day and night for their favorite in an unprecedented manner, but he failed to deliver and brought the country to its knees.

PM Shehbaz stated that the coalition administration was aware of the devastation caused by the rains and that discussions with the provincial governments had been held to that end.

He stated that the provincial administrations are working around the clock in locations where people have died and suffered economically as a result of the rains.

“The federal government has decided to raise the compensation package for individuals affected by the rains,” the premier said, adding that a conference to discuss relief provisions will take held tomorrow.

The premier stated that the federal government will work with the state and local governments to recover losses and assist farmers who have suffered the most.

PM Shehbaz stated that while he wished to help the people, he could not control international oil and gas prices.

He questioned why the previous administration did not purchase LNG when the price was as low as $3.

PM Shehbaz chastised the PTI-led government, saying it borrowed more than Rs20,000 billion in three and a half years and caused millions of people to lose their jobs and become homeless.

He questioned who attacked the Parliament in 2014, delaying the Chinese president’s visit and, as a result, the CPEC project, and lamented that no one took note.

He said that the president, prime minister, and deputy speaker all violated the constitution, but no one cared.

PM Shehbaz has pledged to continue competing with Imran Khan’s fascism, saying they will fight till the end and will never accept defeat.
