School vacations ended but students have no books

The Lahore District Education Authority (DAE) has failed to provide books to sixth, seventh, and eighth-grade students as the summer school holidays come to an end in a week on Tuesday.

In this regard, the Punjab Ombudsman requested an explanation from the District Authority.

The Ombudsman requested a certificate from the education authority stating that the books would be delivered within two days.

On the other hand, the Punjab Teachers Union has asked the government to extend the summer vacation by two weeks.

According to PTU General Secretary Rana Liaquat Ali, the next academic calendar has been reduced to 186 days.

PTU stated that books would be delivered by August 1st.
