Punjab ministers take oath today

Even though the Supreme Court’s decision yesterday left the Hamza Shehbaz-led government in Punjab in limbo, the ‘trustee’ chief minister’s cabinet members will take the oath of office later today.

The oaths of office for the Punjab cabinet ministers will be administered at 6 o’clock this evening at Governor House in Lahore, according to 24NewsHD. Muhammad Balighur Rehman, the governor of Punjab, will administer the oath.

Mian Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman, Bilal Yasin, Khawaja Imran Nazir, Khawaja Salman Rafiq, and Saiful Maluk Khokhar were among the provincial ministers who would be sworn in.

Govt will not allow PTI to murder justice through bullying: Marriyum

Marriyum Aurangzeb, the minister of information, has meanwhile urged people who previously mistreated national institutions not to suddenly take ownership of them.

The government will not permit the former prime minister Imran Khan to play a “pro-establishment” and “anti-establishment” scenario in order to restore power, Ms. Aurangzeb said in response to PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry’s statement.

No one will be permitted to fiddle with the law or the constitution, she declared. She continued by asserting that the narrative of Nawaz Sharif and the PML-N was and would always be one of the constitutions.

“We will not compromise on the constitution, democracy, and on the public right to govern,” the minister added.

Imran Khan, the leader of the PTI and a former prime minister, admitted, according to Ms. Aurangzeb, that he relied on state institutions and agencies to manage his administration for the previous four years. Now, she declared, “we will never permit the assassination of justice through intimidation and profanity.”

She believed Imran was targeting state institutions and attempting to oust the current leadership of these institutions.

She demanded of the Election Commission of Pakistan to announce its verdict in the PTI foreign funding case. She was of the view that Imran actually wanted an NRO in the foreign funding case, hence he had indulged in bullying, hooliganism, and chaotic politics.

She accused the Imran regime of bringing Pakistan to the verge of default. People are paying the price of Imran’s pathetic economic decisions in the shape of rising inflation, poverty, and unemployment.

Javed Latif decries efforts aimed to dislodge govt

However, PML-N leader Javed Latif regretted that attempts were being made to obstruct the effective operation of the federal government.

The PML-N leader told a press conference in Lahore that they were sacrificing politics for the sake of the state. He demanded that all of Nawaz Sharif’s appeals be heard by the courts right away.

According to him, Nawaz Sharif was being thwarted by the same forces that had attacked Imran Khan. He said, “They want technocrats to run the country.”
